Whenever Apple launches a new device, fans happen to consider it as the BEST. And why wouldn't they; Apple has maintained that image for quite a long time, outperforming every other smartphone on the planet in nearly every aspect. Be it camera, processing performance, network, screen quality, etc. But from what appears to be a streak breaker, DxOMarks's recent tests break the illusion.

What is DxOMark?
For those of you who are not familiar, DxOMark is the planet's leading camera benchmark that analyzes the quality of smartphone cameras, audio quality, and display.
What's the deal?
iPhone 12 scored 122 on the best camera benchmark test in the world. For the first time in a few years, the overall score does not earn iPhone 12 a spot in the top 10 best camera smartphone. To give a clear idea about the situation, this score is less than last year's iPhone 11 Pro Max (it scored 124 points).
According to DxOMark, the iPhone 12 usually calculates the right exposure, the color production is good, and autofocus does not struggle in low lighting conditions. However, Android smartphones such as Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro (priced at around 50,000INR), Oppo Find X2 Pro (around 60,000INR), and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (around 1,00,000INR, yet unnecessarily overpriced) outplay Apple's latest.

On the downside, the iPhone 12 is observed to have contracted dynamic range and more noise levels than expected. The phone is also found to have a disappointing simulated bokeh portrait mode. Further, the lack of a dedicated tele-module affects its zoom performance. White balance on the iPhone 12 also impacts both still photos and videos, DxOMark team.
