The better and faster Microsoft Edge server was launched on 15th January 2020. It is since then that Microsoft has been struggling to shift the users from Internet Explorer to Edge. However, the number is already depleting as Google Chrome has been providing steady and synchronized performance over the past years.
Microsoft Internet Explorer, one of the primitive browsers, had a user base of 1 billion internet users, back in the year 2010. Since then, the number of people actively using IE has constantly dropped. While currently, both edge and internet explorer combine to about 500 million users globally, about 2.94 Billion people access the internet using Google Chrome.
