OnePlus is rolling out the developer’s preview of OxygenOS 11 on August 10. Pete Lau, founder, and CEO at OnePlus announced on forums, along with a hint on the upcoming update. Along with some new design elements and user-requested features, the new operating system would be based on Android 11. We might expect a stable beta version to be out soon, which would be available to all.
OnePlus is known to provide a hassle-free, seamless experience to its users, along with zero bloatware on its devices. While the hardware is top-notch, credit also goes to its software. The Oxygen OS is one of the fastest user interfaces on a smartphone. Designed for heavy usage, it offers better overall control of the device.

Maintaining the legacy, the Oxygen OS 11 would showcase better media controls, an improved notification stage, and support for always-on-display. Apart from that, there are major customization tweaks for the users. The Open Ears Forum and IDEAS might influence some new features. It was an initiative taken earlier this year by OnePlus, to understand what their customers need. One may expect smoother performance and a refined interface. The update might also contain a new Zen Mode and a better Dark Mode.
“On August 10, we’ll be releasing the final developer’s preview build of OxygenOS 11 to give a small group of our most technically-inclined community members a chance to start testing out some of the new features and share feedback with our team. Then once we’ve squashed most of the big bugs and improved overall stability, we’ll release a full open beta to let even more if you try it out.” ~ Pete Lau.

OnePlus recently launched its budget-oriented lineup, NORD. It directly stands against the iPhone SE 2 and Google Pixel 4A. Offering a near-flagship experience at a not-so-flagship price point, NORD has already created a buzz in the market. The device also marks OnePlus’ return to their “flagship-killer” segment. While the smartphone ships with Oxygen OS 10 in the box, it would soon receive updates to the latest version.
The most crucial task for an OS is to act as a bridge between a user and a device. It is through the OS that we control and manage our phones. An OS must reduce the work of a user. While the Oxygen OS is user-friendly, it just gets better with every update!
