Recently, I got my hands on the latest M series smartphone from Samsung - Galaxy M51. I have heard a lot about the device. It was launched around 5 months ago, and all I could see on the internet was this battery beast. I had been really curious about this device in particular because it has the Snapdragon 730G chipset. Previously, budget smartphones from the Korean giant featured only Exynos chipsets, which are not at all competent.

Samsung Galaxy M51 - a vibrant treat!
Coming to the point, I would be doing a detailed review, covering all the major aspects of this smartphone. So today, we will be talking about the screen on this piece of technology. First things first, Samsung is definitely a global pioneer when it comes to high-quality displays. Categorically, I am talking about the AMOLEDs and Super AMOLEDs.
Fun fact: About 70 - 80% of displays on Apple devices are manufactured by Samsung.
Coming from an IPS LCD panel, I would say I am in love with the display. The screen is rich and vibrant, colours are punchy yet accurate and brightness levels range from adequately dark to blazing bright. The most cherished feature of an AMOLED panel is the magnificent 'blacks'.
Fun fact: An AMOLED panel actually actively controls the brightness of each and every pixel. So, while producing the colour black, the display actually turns-off the pixels in that very area.

Technical specification of the display on Samsung Galaxy M51
The Samsung Galaxy M51 has a 6.7" Infinity-O, FullHD+ (1080x2400), Super AMOLED Plus display with 16M colour support. Owing to the large screen size, the pixel density of 393ppi is the best in class. You might not notice the central camera situated at the top. The bezels on each side are minimal, especially the bottom chin. It is not as huge as other phones in this price range.
According to Business Standard, "It has a good contrast ratio, too. It supports HDR, but only for videos available on YouTube. The HDR does not work in apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney + Hotstar. On the bright side, the phone streams videos available on over-the-top platforms in the fullHD resolution, thanks to its Widevine L1 certification".
Conclusion and my thoughts!
Overall, the display is large, produces really good colours, and is good for watching any type of content, either on YouTube or any other OTT platform. You might not even notice the absence of HDR support, as the Super AMOLED Plus displays are brilliant. The only downside being - 'absence of a high refresh-rate display'. Does that bother in day-to-day usage - I would say no.
All-in-all, the display on Samsung Galaxy M51 is probably the best display in the price segment. You would not regret a single day of purchasing this device. If you wish to buy a smartphone with a huge screen, and you love watching movies on your mobile phone, this one is for you!
Shikhar's Rating for Samsung Galaxy M51's screen - 9/10 (half mark for the absence of HDR 10+ support and higher refresh-rates respectively).
P.S. - the phone supports Dolby Atmos with headphones!
