Hey, hope you all are doing good. Now, a not-so-random fact about me - I am very picky when it comes to headphones and earphones. Listening to music is my escape, my 'peace' time. While the wired earphones from Sennheiser had been my go-to for almost 4 years, I had to switch to truly wireless earphones. Why - not having to untangle the wires on a daily basis. Also, they are a really cool piece of tech.
Having tried a vast array of products. Ranging from the expensive Apple Airpods, Samsung Galaxy Buds, to the budget-oriented JBL C100TWS (reviewed as well) and other truly wireless earphones. It would not be much to say that the Noise Shots Neo 2 surprised me. Why? Well, we are going to cover that in this article today.
Quick Fact/Disclaimer: The sound quality of Truly Wireless Earphones or TWS is not as good as Wired Headphones or earphones. It holds true for all the TWS that are priced below or around 8,000INR.

Noise Shots Neo 2 - Connectivity
Pairing it for the first time was no hassle. All you need to do is open the box of the case and scan for nearby Bluetooth devices on your smartphone. Once the 'Shots Neo 2' appears, tap to connect. The whole process did not take more than 20 seconds.
After you are done establishing a connection, it works fluently. All you need to do it, open the box. The earbuds connect to your smartphone within 3 to 4 seconds. Thanks to the 'Hyper Sync TM' technology. The connection is pretty strong as well. In my use, I walked around my house while my phone was resting in the charging hub. The distance would be around 10 to 15 metres. I did not experience any connection drop.
For the nerds out there, the device runs on Bluetooth 5.0 and supports both SBC and AAC codecs.

Noise Shots Neo 2 - Sound Quality
This was something that really surprised me. Having tried some other TWS below a price of 2,000INR, I would say that the sound quality on this one is really decent. The highs are clear, the mids are balanced and the bass is slightly emphasized. I like listening to songs a lot, as I mentioned earlier. And while I was very sceptical about this device - it performs well.
I enjoyed my favourite songs like - Mere Naam Tu (Zero) which has a lot of vocals and some pop songs like 24K Magic by Bruno Mars. The sound stage is very detailed on this device. You can hear different instruments with the characteristic sounds while listening to songs on this one. However, using an inbuilt or a third-party equalizer to customize the sound would deliver even better results.
Just something to put across: Noise is not focussing/advertising this product to have 'really good sound quality', and it is definitely not as good as the JBL C100TWS or the Samsung one, it performs fairly well, considering the price point.
For the nerds, the device comes with a 6mm speaker driver.
Fun Fact: The sound stage is the ability of a device to differentiate between unique instruments, frequencies and reflect them through the driver. An audio device with a vide sound stage produces clear sounds.

Noise Shots Neo 2 - Call Quality
Using the Samsung Galaxy Buds and JBL C100TWS made me question upon the calling ability of TWS devices. I would not be wrong when I say that they are not really good. Especially when you are in a noisy environment.
With this one, the experience was slightly better. While on call, the receiver could not hear the background noises (TV in the next room, occasional traffic sounds from the road). On a few occasions, when someone really honked hard, there was a noticeable sound on the other side of the call. At the same place and with the same environment. the JBL C100TWS and Galaxy Buds captured a lot of noise and less of my voice.
For the nerds, there is a single MEMS microphone on both the buds. Also, you can use these as a monopod.
Noise Shots Neo 2 - Gaming Latency
Let me be very clear. I loved the Noise Shots Neo 2 for yet another reason - the low latency gaming mode. While they advertise a number as low as '65ms in SBC codec and 85ms in AAC codec', both worked really fine for me.
As saddened as I am with the departure of PUBG, I tried playing Call Of Duty Mobile with this one. The gunshots and feedback sounds were clear. Especially, I could comprehend whether a gunshot came from the right or the left. Now, I tried switching between both the codecs while playing the game, and on no occasion did I get a sound lag.
And yes, the lag on the JBL and the Samsung device is too much to play first-person shooter games.
Warning: As soon as you trigger the gaming mode by tapping thrice on the earbuds, there is a really loud sound(feedback sound for indicating that the gaming mode has been turned on).Do not switch in on while the earbuds are in your ear. I might remove this line from the review if Noise fixes that.

Noise Shots Neo 2 - Battery Life
I started using the device around 2 PM, with a 100% battery. I have been continuously listening to podcasts or songs while writing this review, at about 60% loudness. I checked again at 6 PM and it had about 30% juice. So yes, this one has good battery life.
While testing the game on the 'low latency mode', the battery drained quite fast. Like a half hour gaming session took about 20% from the battery. I would say that the battery life is just as good as the JBL or the Samsung device. On normal use, you can expect at least 5 hours from the earbuds, and the case would charge it up to 3 times. Nice work there Noise!

Final Verdict
At a price of 1,999INR, I would say the Noise Shots Neo 2 are a no-brainer. It does well while gaming, while in a call, or while listening to music. If you are someone who has been waiting to buy a good pair of TWS at a decent price, this is your chance to get one. Do keep in mind that the price will increase after midnight on 10nth January 2021.
