For a change, let us begin with an interesting factual story today (yep, that's true). So y'all know how the Apple iPhones are one of the most expensive smartphones out there (there are others as well, not as known as iPhones). If you know that, you must also know that it takes money to buy the iPhone (sorry XD).

Okay, on a serious note, in order to earn money, a lot of people go for a typical 9 to 5 job, right? And then there are expenses and hobbies to pursue as well. If we perform some basics calculations and divide the cost of an iPhone by an average Indian's salary, it would take at least 3 months to afford the base variant of the iPhone 13. While that calculation does not consider the expenses made throughout the period, you must have got an idea about the situation!

What if I tell you, that an average American resident can earn enough money to purchase an iPhone in about 50 hours? Yes, that is a huge, hugeeee difference! Now there are two reasons for the same. Firstly, the cost of an iPhone is much less in the US than in India. Secondly, the median salary earned in that part of the world is at least 8 to 10 times higher than that in this part. To get a better idea, refer to the table given below (man I am already sad!)
| Price of iPhone 13 | Basic Monthly Salary | Can Purchase in |
United States | $799 | ~ $4500 | ~ 6 days |
Canada | $1099 | ~ $4490 | ~ 8 days |
Singapore | ~ $960 | ~ $4270 | ~ 9 days |
Australia | ~ $977 | ~ $3250 | ~ 10 days |
United Kingdom | ~ $912 | ~ $2800 | ~ 12 days |
India | ~ $1083 | ~ $406 | ~ 85 days |
Now that you know that difference, I would completely understand if you don't wish to read more about the tech updates and so on. Trust me, I don't feel like writing them as well. The table does not only show the basic price difference of an iPhone, but the difference in average salaries in different parts of the world, and the ability to afford stuff. Nevertheless, just for the sake of it, dropping down some headlines below!

That data such a vast difference🤔
The tabulated data is insanely thought-provoking. Great piece Shikhar!! And you'll never have 0 views that is for sure :)
