Does your wishlist have a flying device that clicks amazing pictures and shoots movie-like shots? Are you by any chance planning to buy a drone device but are considering to wait because of the steep prices? If yes, then my friend, the new DJI Mini 2 is what you shall be looking for.

The successor of DJI Mavic Mini - Mini 2 has got rid of the title "Mavic" for some reason, but that is the only thing that is not there. The manufacturer has decided to go all-in on this one. You get to shoot professional-quality video shots in 4k resolution. The battery life is amazing, the chassis is robust, the controller is freakishly big and easy to use, it would not be a claim when I say that this might be the ideal 400USD drone DJI has ever made.
DJI MINI 2 - Lightweight Champion!

Okay so just for a little perspective, a drone that weighs over 250g is called a "Micro Drone," one that weighs over 2kg is called a "Small Done", and that which weighs over 25kg is called a "Small Done" (how can that be small XD).
The DJI Mini2 is just 249g, can you believe it?
And it is this weight that gets it classified under the category of "Toy Drones". It simply means that to fly this lightweight champion, you do not need any license or authentic training to fly this one.
A Portable Yet Powerful Drone!

As far as the size is concerned, the drone fits right into your palm or might be slightly bigger if you have a smaller hand. You can easily slip it into the side pocket of your backpack and carry it along. The device does ship with a classic DJI carry bag, that can fit in the drone, the battery case, and the controller.
Owing to its lightweight and efficient design, DJI claims a fly time of around 31 minutes. Now, the thing about such claims is that they simply do not hold in real life. Don't worry, inexperience, the Mini 2 would deliver anywhere between 20 to 25 minutes of fly time, which is still pretty decent. You get 2 extra batteries if you go for the "Fly More Combo", increasing your time in the air to about an hour.

This time around the device sports a USB C port and supports fast charge as well. The charger dock also supports fast charge and has this new feature where it charges your batteries one at a time. Instead of slowly charging all the batteries, it charges on the second while you are actually using the first one.
Smooth Long-Range Video Transmission Is Not a Dream Anymore!
The DJI Mini 2 can transmit HD video up to a distance of 10km. While it actually looks fantastic on paper, you might not be able to do that because otherwise, your drone would run out of power to return to the take-off site. That being said, OcuSync 2.0 has surely improved the delay-time (next to live transmission).
You Can Shoot All The Cinematic Shots At 4K!

The 12MP, along with a 3-axis motorized gimbal performs absolutely well. While the pictures actually support HDR, the video can be shot in 4K (which is a big jump from DJI Mini, which only shot in 2.7K). There is also an additional option of high bitrate videos. You can zoom in to your shots up to 4X while shooting in 1080P, 3X in 2.7K, and 2X in 4K.
The drone comes programmed with cinematic aerial shots such as Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Circle, and Boomerang. All these help you instantly shoot cinematic videos, and actually help you learn.
It can fly at 16 m/s (Sports Mode), 10 m/s (Normal Mode), and 6 m/s (while running short on battery). Other than that, the motors in DJI Mini 2 can survive high-speed winds (29-38kph). DJI has adopted the controller from one of their previous drones, and it is fairly easy to use.

Decent Pricing - Upsetting Availability!
The official DJI website has marked the DJI Mini 2 at 449USD, and the Fly More Combo at 599USD (which additionally has Propeller Holder, Two-Way Charging Hub, DJI 18W USB Charger, and a Should Bag). However, they are not shipping it globally, which is quite a turn off after creating such a versatile piece of technology.
I swear to you guys, had it been available in India at that price, I would have bought it right away. But anyway, 3rd party vendors are selling it at about 1L Indian Rupees, so that makes it around 2.5X expensive. Nevertheless, you can still ask your relatives from Hollywood, San Diago, or even UAE to bring you a gift, when they visit you this new year.
