Okay, so I can bet on one thing. There might be someone whom you know, who still uses a iPhone 6, or even iPhone 8. The number does not matter, just the tiny old phone, with a powerbank in the other hand. Can you relate with me? Well, even if you don't, I have solid facts supporting my statement. In this article today, I am going to tell you - Why is iPhone 11 a 'Five Year Smartphone' from Apple. And when I say that, I don't mean its age, I mean that it is going to last in the international market for 5 years. Keep reading to know more.

Here is something about iPhone 7 - the current best selling iPhone (yes, you read that right!)

Consider this, in the year 2020, 10.35% of Apple sales came from the iPhone 7, which was launched in September 2016. That simply implies that currently, iPhone 7 is the most used iPhone in the world. At that time, it was priced a whopping ₹60,000, and the same phone is currently available for ₹21,000 or even less.

Did you know this about the iPhone 8?

The iPhone 8 stands in 2nd place, with 8.83% of the market share. The beautiful little smart phone was launched in 2017, making it almost 3 years old. Launched at ₹57,500, it is now selling for a rough ₹40,000. Are you getting a feel of it yet?

Okay, let's come to the point now!

This would get you to it - the iPhone 11 which was launched in 2019, is currently the 3rd best selling iPhone in the world (recently took over Xr). At the time of launch, the base variant, which offers you a 64GB storage, was priced at ₹64,900. It took only one year, and in Amazon's Great Indian Festival 2020, the price came down to ₹47,999 (bank offers excluded).

What governs the sales of iPhone in India?

Now, a huge factor that determines the prices of these iPhone in the Indian subcontinent is their price. However, unlike Android smartphones, iPhones age very slowly. A model from 4 years ago can run the latest iOS, offering the best software experience. Can a Android phone do the same? I highly doubt the objectivity of an answer.

Given the predictable fall in price, and the longevity of Apple's devices, the iPhone 11 would probably be the best selling iPhone for another 3 years, or in other words, the best iPhone for people with a budget (unless offcourse it is called off by the company XD).

Based on current trends - iPhone 11's price might drop to ₹37,000 in just 2 years down the lane. And it would still be able to handle almost anything and everything that yo can throw at a smartphone. A proportionate fall occurs for all the storage variants, so that would not be an issue.

Nerd-ing in now!

The Apple iPhone 11 runs on A13 bionic, which can handle daily multitasking and high-end games with ease, while still maintaining a standard battery drop rate.

Right out of the box, the phone comes with two camera lenses, a 12MP wide coupled with a 12MP ultrawide. It clicks stunning photos and excel in video quality for most smart phone users.

To watch the videos you shoot and millions of others on the internet, you have a 6.10" screen that is neither too small nor too big, with accurate colors. The speakers are good, the micrphones are awesome, you get my point right?

Now, there are two implementations of this

Here is the first one for those who bought iPhone 11 at launch. Unless you do not sit on your device, or throw it down the stairs (what is the problem with iPhone users and stairs anyway :p), your iPhone 11 would last you at least 3 years before the battery starts aging. That is why, you see all the 7s and 8s with a powerbank.

Secondly, the iPhone 11 would get iOS updates for at least another 4 years (that is not a official number, but the iPhone 6/6 Plus got it for 8 years). So if everything goes fine, this speculation must hold true.

Here is the verdict!

It does not matter whether you are a college going student, or a office going professional (or a travel-going person XD) - the iPhone 11 is pretty much the best investment you can do, if and when you want to buy an iPhone, that is both awesome and reasonable (price wise X3).
